    Re: Jamboree at Burton

Ummmm, Burton was clicking very nicely but William Campbell just didn't look all that great. Their QB couldn't throw the deep ball so they had to rely on him scrambling and throwing short passes but Burtons D was stout and swarmed to the ball very well tonight.

As far as Lebanon, they just didn't look all that great. I think Burtons second team scored 1 or 2 scores on their 1st team D. I may be wrong about that but I think it was their first team D still out in the 2nd Quarter.

Burton didn't make any mistakes really. No INT's and maybe one fumble that we recovered. Ethan looked very good. He scrambled a lot and very efficient.

    Re: Jamboree at Burton

things i gathered from the jamboree:

    1. kelly is much improved.
    2. burton doesn't seem to be down any from last season. lack of competition this season may hurt.
    3. william campbell doesn't appear to be a state championship contender. they will get better though by playing good competition in region b.
    4. lebanon got the raw deal tonight having to play 6 straight quarters against good competition. they had nothing left for burton. it may not have mattered but they were exhausted by the 2nd quarter with wc, and had nothing for the fresh burton team.
    5. make no mistake, burton is very good, but they definitely had the jamboree schedule set up in their favor. william campbell had been on and off the field for about 5 hours before the faced burton. are they better than wc? yes.... are they 27 points better in a half? no

William Campbell looked identical to PV. Just spread 4 wide and threw short passes.

I will have to say that Strouth looked like a MAN against WC as well. He had a long 70+yard run for their first score and then laid the wood to one of their receivers on the sideline.

It will be a long trip home to Naruna for the Generals of William Campbell. I have to honestly say I was not expecting what I saw tonight. Burton came out fired up against WC. </div></div>

agree with this statement. I'll have to add a few things I saw worries me a bit. the Punt's were not live and "we" dropped quite a few for there not to be any pressure on the punt returners. Can we cover a kickoff better than we did last year? It was awful last year. And last but not least, our extra point try's are still very iffy.

All in all I expected more from Lebanon and WC and Kelly played better than most expected them to.

I stayed for the whole thing man, I just went up in the stands for awhile. Good to see you. You surprised me when you ran by me. I talked to UTvols2 a bit later and told him who you were and stuff. He had no idea that you went to Emory or knew AK. He played football for Emory I believe.

Burton hasn't had a kicker since ole UTVols2 left, lol. But on a serious note glad to hear Burton looked good.
